H.E. Dr Caroline Purvey, A Life of Vision, Healing and Service

Her Excellency Dr Caroline Purvey is a health visionary, educator, humanitarian and international peace advocate whose work centres on one clear belief: people can learn to understand their bodies, release the effects of past stress and trauma, and move forward with greater strength, choice and hope.

For more than three decades, Caroline has worked with people through education, movement, wellbeing and personal development. Her approach is rooted not only in professional experience, but also in lived experience. Her own journey through stress, challenge, loss and recovery led her to explore more deeply how the body can continue to carry the effects of what has happened long after an event itself has passed.

Rather than simply teaching what she had learned, Caroline became her own first student. She explored the process in her own body, observed the changes, refined the approach and continued to practise what she now shares with others. That lived experience remains central to her work today. She believes strongly that those who guide others should understand the process from the inside, not simply from a textbook.

From that journey, Caroline developed the Total Release Experience®, a body-led process designed to help people understand and release deeply held tension in a safe, supported and practical way.

In 2012, Caroline established TRE UK®, through which she has supported people experiencing a wide range of physical, mental and emotional difficulties linked to long-held stress and trauma. Her work combines education, guided body release, personal reflection and ongoing support, giving people the knowledge and confidence to play an active part in their own recovery.

Caroline is also the co-founder of Release Recover Discover Community Interest Company, RRDCIC, alongside her son, H.E. Daniel Wood. The organisation grew from a shared vision to make early support available before stress, trauma and emotional pressure become lifelong problems. Through schools, families, communities and partner organisations, RRDCIC aims to give children and young people practical tools to understand what is happening within their bodies and learn how to release tension rather than carry it forward into adult life.

Education has always been at the heart of Caroline’s work. Before developing her own programmes, she spent seventeen years as a school teacher and holds a degree in Business and Education, a Postgraduate Certificate in Education and a Master’s degree in Education. This background continues to shape the way she works today, making complex ideas easy to understand and turning knowledge into practical action.

Her contribution to health and humanitarian work now extends internationally. Caroline serves as a United Nations Peace Ambassador through WOLMI and as Health Director within the WOLMI Health Department, where she supports wider conversations around health, prevention, recovery and human wellbeing.

She has used international platforms to raise awareness of the impact of unresolved stress and trauma and the need for more accessible and preventative approaches to health. Her work has also been recognised through a number of international honours and awards, including an Honorary Doctorate, the IAOTP Lifetime Achievement Award and recognition through the Health 2.0 Conference and Forttuna Global Excellence Awards.

Yet for Caroline, recognition has never been the destination. It gives her a stronger platform from which to carry the message further.

She is also the author of ‘Feel It To Heal It’, which shares the understanding that has shaped both her professional work and her personal journey, that what the body has carried can be acknowledged, understood and released.

At the heart of everything Caroline does is a desire to change the way society responds to stress and trauma. Rather than waiting until people reach crisis point, she believes we can teach people earlier, support them better and give them practical tools they can carry throughout life.

Her vision reaches beyond individual healing. She wants adults to become an inspiration for the next generation, creating a ripple effect through families, schools and communities. By training facilitators and expanding access to the work, her aim is to build a solution that is practical, affordable, sustainable and capable of reaching people on a much wider scale.

Dr Caroline Purvey represents a form of leadership rooted in lived experience, education, courage, compassion and action. Her work is not simply about helping people feel better. It is about helping them understand themselves, regain choice and discover what can become possible when they no longer have to carry everything that came before.

H.E. Dr Caroline Purvey, a woman of vision, courage, compassion and purpose, dedicated to helping people release the past and create a healthier future for generations to come.
